Future Wingspan Arts Center

In addition to serving thousands of students with on-site programs in schools and other locations throughout the Tri-State region, we continue our search for a place we can call home. Our mission is to build a facility to house our highly acclaimed Conservatory plus the growing array of other programs we offer and provide high quality, affordable performing/visual arts facilities for use by artists, arts educators, producers and others working in a variety of disciplines.

This is our vision for Wingspan Arts Center:

  • Wingspan Arts Center will be a facility where performing, visual, literary and media arts can be developed and presented, nurtured and supported in a modern, accessible well-equipped and well-managed facility.
  • The Center will be a gathering spot for diverse audiences seeking a better view and understanding of a complicated, changing world that can be uniquely and vividly expressed through the arts.
  • The Center will enable new and emerging artists, resident and visiting theater companies, students of the arts and participants in arts outreach programs to work side by side, in a place that can serve as a learning laboratory and catalyst for sharing creative, relevant ideas in a variety of voices.
  • The Center will build a community of support from many sources including not-for-profit and commercial theatre producers and arts managers; educators and providers of arts enrichment programs for youngsters; noted playwrights, directors and actors; artists from the varied worlds of visual art, music, dance, poetry and other media; community based and other programs that connect youngsters and underserved groups to the arts.
  • Wingspan Arts Center and its many programs will bring energy and vitality to its local neighborhood and become known as a significant cultural and educational destination in New York.
