Wingspan Arts, Inc., a non-profit arts enrichment company is seeking experienced Teaching Artists and Assistants, for programs in and around the NY Metro Region. We are seeking passionate, dedicated teaching artists and assistants with experience teaching grades K-12. Please send us your resume with a brief description of a class you’ve had success teaching or a class you’ve always wanted to teach. Include class(es), age range and either TA or ASST in the subject line of email. (i.e.: Piano/ 3-5gr/ TA)

Summer Teaching Assistant Intern
Wingspan Arts is seeking interns interested in learning more about arts education for its Summer Musical Mania program.
In this innovative summer program children will create an original musical theatre piece. The Musical Mania program focuses on creativity and the nurturing of children’s inherent acting and writing skills. Students will learn the fundamentals of musical theatre: playmaking, acting, singing, and dancing using imagination games as well as formal classes. Each day students are taken on a journey through all of these skills with multiple professionals in those fields.
Responsibilities include assisting teaching artists in dance and movement, music, voice, acting, playmaking and recording, etc. Students are grades K-4. There will be some administrative work involved with this internship, which may involve security, phone work, mailings and computer work.
Previous experience with this age group preferred.
Hours are 8:45-5:15 M-Th and 8:45-1:15 on Fridays, Program runs July 2-August 3

Summer Stage Management Intern
The Wingspan Arts Summer Conservatory is a TUITION-FREE theatre conservatory. Using a variety of activities as well as classes taught by industry professionals, students learn the skills required to become accomplished actors, vocalists and theatre artists. Serving all students from talented beginners to experienced professional kids, Wingspan Arts Conservatory manages to strike a balance between fun and learning that keeps our students coming back year after year.
We are currently searching for Stage Management interns for our Summer 2012 program. Responsibilities are those of a stage manager: being in charge of rehearsals, call, communication with directors, designers, student performers (grades 6-12) and their families. Some previous stage management experience required. Technical experience is preferred but not required as stage managers will be required to help with tech. Please also include any prior experience working with young people
Hours: Monday-Friday mornings and/or afternoons, July – August

On-Site Afterschool Intern
Assistant teach in our arts-based classes,
devise creative, small-group activities, chaperone field trips, lead students in visual arts and community-based projects, provide homework help, and assist Site Directors during drop-off and pick-up time. Kids are K-5. Share your enthusiasm for the arts!
Interns can work one or every day, but must be available from 2:30-6 pm. Committing to 9-12 hours/week a plus.
